To help Contestants win as much money as possible, Venturi offers assistance to contestants who are unsure of an answer.
With every question a player who is struggling with an answer may choose one of two options to increase their chances of answering correctly and therefore stop the Sentinel hiding a losing sphere in the grid.
Of course, each level of help incurs a penalty in the number of spheres available to win:

The audience
In addition, but only once during the game, the Contestant can seek help from one audience member. A virtual screen containing faces of audience members is shown ~~and the Contestant chooses the sex, age and occupation of the person they think will most likely be able to help. ~~Once selected, the Contestant has 90 seconds to talk with the chosen person.
